CAPE ANN WATERFRONT – The existing seawall at this beautifully situated waterfront property was in very tough shape, and the client experienced storm damage and flooding regularly. We obtained permitting from our local Conservation Commission to raise the seawall in a style that is structurally strong, but sensitive to the wall traditions of Cape Ann. The raised elevation of the home provided us with opportunities to create terraces, retaining walls, a more useful yet imaginative arrival sequence from the parking area, and a handsomely built new deck. Oversized slabs of our beloved Cape Ann granite were sourced for walkways and a bridge over a lovely rill.
